Spend a summer at the beach making a difference!
Since 1926, 4-H Camp Timpoochee has hosted overnight and day summer camps for youth ages 6-17. As our program continues to grow, so does our need for hardworking and dedicated staff. Our Day Camp Leaders are a relatively new position created dedicated to our ever growing Day Camp Program. All the benefits of being a summer camp leader without residing in a cabin with campers.
This summer, Camp Timpoochee will be running approximately 7 weeks of camp for day campers! During the weeks we do not have day campers on site, our Day Camp Leaders may enjoy a respite away from camp. We also have a mid-summer break over the 4th of July holiday which staff are welcome to travel or stay on camp and enjoy the amazing firework show in Destin, Florida.
We are located in Niceville, Florida, and have a third of a mile of waterfront right on the Choctwhatchee Bay.
Training begins on May 14th, 2025, and is paid training. All applicants must be age 18 by this date. No experience is required to be a Day Camp Leader! Just a desire to make a difference and have a memorable time doing so. We will provide you will all the training and certifications for American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard or First Aid! Daily lunch and snacks are also provided. Day Campers generally check in around 7:30 each morning and leave no later than 5:30 on Monday-Thursday and by 1:30 on Friday, leaving weekends open to rest and re-coup or to explore the beautiful Emerald Coast!
Our leadership team strives to provide a memorable summer of growth and leadership to all our camp staff. We have worked with various schools and universities to also ensure you receive internship credit for your summer work as well. If this is something you are interested in, let us know during your interview!
We also have a recruitment incentive! If you are brought on as a Cabin Leader, anyone you recruit who is hired also qualifies you for an additional $100/person bonus at the end of summer.
