Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Tyler Recital Hall Northwest Florida State College, Niceville $25 each or $100 for 2 tickets to recital/reception combo The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra presents a special fundraising recital Monday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m. with guest pianist Alon Goldstein, who recently made a superb debut as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The recital features the works of Beethoven, Liszt, Ravel, Schubert and Ginastera and will be held in the Tyler Recital Hall at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. Goldstein is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore where he was selected to be teaching assistant to the legendary pianist Leon Fleisher. He is particularly known for his intelligent and sensitive playing and this past season performed in a tour with the Tokyo String Quartet. Other engagements have included concertos with the New Haifa Symphony in Israel, the Vermont Symphony, the Georges Enescu Symphony in Bucharest and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France in Paris. He is the first prize winner of numerous competitions including the prestigious Wideman International Competition in Shreveport, Louisiana, the Arianne Katcz Competition in Tel Aviv and the Francois Shapira Competition in Israel. Recital seating is limited to 125. Tickets are available now through the Arts Center Box Office for $25 each. For a contribution of $100, patrons may receive two (2) recital tickets as well as an invitation to a wine reception the following evening, Tuesday, September 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. to meet this wonderful guest artist. All proceeds from the two events go to support the NFSO to ensure that the symphony continues to offer the region's finest symphonic performances.
