Description
Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Sprint Theater Northwest Florida State College, Niceville $15 each adult/$10 youth/NWFSC students- one free w/ID America's premier comic playwright makes another hilarious foray into the world of modern relationships as Northwest Florida State College presents its production of the Neil Simon comedy ''Jake's Women'' on October 23 to 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sprint Theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the college's Niceville campus. Jake, a novelist who is more successful with fiction that with life, faces a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life. The wildly comic and sometimes moving flashbacks played in his mind are interrupted by visitations from actual females. Jake's women include a revered first wife who was killed years earlier in an accident, his daughter who is recalled as a child but is now a young woman, his boisterous and bossy sister, an opinionated analyst, his current wife who is leaving Jake for another man, and a prospective third wife. Jake, played by Alan Alda during the play's run on Broadway, and his women will definitely deliver a unique night of comedy. "Fantastically funny...Jake's Women are a wonderful crowd." - The New York Post "Full of funny lines." - The New Yorker "One of Simon's best." - The Los Angeles Times "Wit and wisecracks aplenty." - UPI This Fall term theatrical production is presented by the NWF State College Fine & Performing Arts Division in the 185-seat Sprint Theater, the smaller of two theater venues at the college's performing arts center.
