The Fort Walton Beach Police Department and the FWBPD Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) are hosting their popular Construction Junction event at the fairgrounds on Lewis Turner Boulevard from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016. This FREE event provides kids of all ages the opportunity to enjoy close-up interaction with big construction and rescue equipment in a safe environment. Displays include helicopters, tractors, dump trucks, hook and ladder fire truck, police cars, Coast Guard rescue boat, military vehicles, and other power equipment. There will be a giant “sand mountain“ for digging and climbing, a face painting station, hands-on building projects, and of course, the chance for kids to actually “dunk a cop!” Kid-friendly door prize and gift certificate giveaways will also be taking place throughout the day. Concessions and ice cream will be available.
