DESCRIPTION:Viva\, Florida! A day of fun and festivities has been planned for October 26 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida (115 Westview Avenue) and Perrine Park. Valparaiso Garden Club\, the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida\, and the City of Valparaiso invite you to join us as we celebrate 500 years of Florida history\, people\, and plants. \n\nStart the day with a visit to Valparaiso Garden Club's humongous plant sale. Then get a head start on Christmas shopping\, choosing from the wide array of arts\, crafts\, and other items available from participating vendors. \n\nAt 10:00 a.m.\, bring youngsters ages 3-7 for a gardening/nature activity led by members of the garden club. Have their faces painted\, and buy kettlecorn\, funnel cakes\, and other treats at the food vendors. At 10:30 a.m.\, gather in the blue room of the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida for Sheila Dunning's lecture\, ''Gardening in the Sand.'' Sheila is Okaloosa County's Commercial Horticulture agent\, and her presentation is a must for people who want to learn more about gardening in our area.\n\nAt 12:00 noon\, join the garden club and museum trustees for groundbreaking of a community garden behind the museum. Take this opportunity to tour the museum\, which has generously consented to open its doors to the public free of charge for this event.
